A telephone call came in to Private Detectives in Leicester from a man who wanted help proving paternity of his two children. His wife had died recently but earlier on in their marriage he suspected she had had an affair and had always worried about the fact that one or both of his two daughters may not actually be his. He had always loved them unconditionally but now his wife was no longer alive he felt able to address the possibility.
We said that a DNA test could be carried out and this could put his mind at rest one way or another. He went away and thought very carefully about this. It was a very big decision with far reaching consequences. We had another call a week later when he had decided to go ahead. We asked him to send us samples from his two daughters and from himself. These could be in the form of hairbrush or toothbrush or chewing gum etc. He sent us the samples and we were able to test them and send the results back by return.
Our client was extremely pleased to find that the two samples from his daughters showed a 99.985 per cent compatibility with our client. This was a great relief and meant also that he could lay to rest the fears he had about his wife’s adultery.
