We had a recent case that involved children. The parents are getting a divorce and the father had access once a week to his two daughters who were five and seven. He had access to the children on Saturday for seven hours. Within the seven hours he was committed to leave the children for one hour only he also was unable to separate the children.
The mother called us at Private Detective Leicester and during the consultation with our client we suggested a seven-hour session of surveillance during the time in which the father had the children. It was decided that we should look for any signs of abuse either physical or mental and to make sure that he didn’t leave the children alone for more than an hour. Our client was able to give us quite a lot of information about what normally went on during a visit. She was able to give us lots of addresses and ideas about what they could be doing when they were together.
The surveillance took place on Saturday and started at 10 o’clock in the morning. Two detectives were on duty to follow the target. The mother handed over the girls at 1018 at the station outside WH Smiths. The father then took the girls to the car that was parked nearby. After short journey he stopped the car took to bicycles out of the boot and then he and the girls went to a nearby park where they rode their bikes and he walked along quite closely behind them. After about an hour and a half they walked back to the car packed bags away and drove to a further park where they repeated the process.
At around lunchtime the target and the girls drove to the target parents’ house and parked the car on the drive. The house was attached to a convenience store and there were three exits from the house and the store combined. There was an entrance from the house to the store that our operatives were unable to see. The only way to check if the target was in the store was to physically go into the store. As we only had two operatives on this job it would have blown out cover to be continually going into store to check. The operatives decided that they could probably get away with going in individually a couple of times. They did this but it was not conclusive proof that he was leaving the girls for more than an hour.
At 4:45 PM the girls left the house got into the car and made their way back to the station where the girl’s mother was waiting for them. Once the target has handed over the girls our operatives stood down. All this information was compiled in a report along with photographs and video evidence.
